powder preference for 6BR

I like VV powders and with those to choose from 135 would be my choice however I won’t leave Varget it’s simply the best.

Varget for 105's in 1/8" twist and N-133 for 66's in 1/14" twist. H-322 actually grouped a little tighter than N-133 but, like you, I am trying to cut back on number of powders. Not giving up on Varget, though.

For your 80 grainers N-135 would be good and N-140 for the 105's. JMO

I've used N540, N150 and N140 with 105's. Yes, Varget for a long time, until I couldn't get it. Then went to VV and haven't gone back.

I've been using 30gr Varget under Berger 105gr Hybrid Targets with underwhelming results. I ran an OCW last week, I'm going to lose 1gr and give it another try.

I have a lb of H4895 inbound, just in case.

A couple guys have suggested RL 15.5 as well.

Until VV powders are unavailable again.... I used to use VV powders and switched when I couldn't get them a number of years back. Does no one remember trying to rustle up a pound or two of N133 or whatever? I found that my replacements worked better. So, I'm in the opposite camp on that one, even though my new go-to's are sketchy to find.

N140 w/ 108gr Berger shoots about 1/2 MOA at 600yds in my XTC rifle.

135 for 80's and N150 for 105's is what I use.

I've been using VV N150 w/ VT 103's and Berger 105 Hybrids since I ran out of Varget; more availability and lower price.

That’s interesting on going with the n150 over the 140 on the 103-105 bullets. I assume for better accuracy and less pressure?

When Varget was unobtainable, I tried N150 because I had some on hand. I was very pleasantly surprised that it matched the accuracy I got with Varget with just a little more velocity. N150 was available and more reasonably priced than many others so I stocked up. I never tried N140.

Factory lapua is somewhere in the n140 ish range for the factory 105s and 90s. They have more options that what they sell to customers.

I shoot the Berger 87 VLD-H with N135 and I've shot the 95 VLD-T with both N135 and N140.

VihtaVuori load data says for the Lapua 90 grainers to use N140, N540, or N150.

My guess is you can probably find pretty good loads with either N135 or N140.
