New Member Intro

@snert Here’s an old thread where he talks up some 155 Bergers he loaded up in a TRG22 that I graciously acquired from his family after he passed (I’m still shooting the same load today).

Thanks Mateo. It is weird in a way how we can be "immortal" in some sense on the internet...yet as grass withers in the sun, so is man who passes away...

Welcome aboard! Some of these guys proudly wear the curmudgeon badge and consider people our age "kids" still, but they're all good folks and are more than willing to pass on their knowledge to those willing to listen. Best forum on the net and being a supporter, you already have earned some respect.

Cheers(!) from behind enemy lines in PRK.

Indeed. I remember him saying to me, in his shop, working up loads, with a fat dip of Cope in his cheek:

"Son, you gotta do what you love for as long as you can. I ain't pushing daisies yet, so until I am, I want to share what I know with all you young fellas to share with your kids someday."

I have tried to keep interested in guns-reloading-shooting, but I must confess it is nearly all about the social impact of guns that concerns me now.

Some call for a replacement for guns, but that solves nothing. A replacement must by necessity perform the same, if not improved function, and the function of the gun is to kill.

I'm not unrealistic as the things cannot be un-invented. I do think that technology will one day make them obsolete (killing will no longer be useful/profitable). I'm betting that hardly anyone wants to be the main course on the menu.

Once we solve the physical/real world problems, we can tackle the superstitions that have dragged us down for millennia.

I'll give it a rest here for a year or so before I visit again.

As soon as you blame human behavior and responsibility on inanimate objects, you are lost in fantasy land.

Dave, that’s like saying that fine ‘64 409 Impala of yours is for “”transportation”. ;)

Can't afford that Jackie. Licensed and insured and may make a test run on my lonesome COUNTY Highway sometimes..... BUT a gallon and a half a quarter mile ain't good...SURE IS FUN THOUGH pound that 5 speed....Pushing 700 HP now. She's got me my share of wood over the years. Not sure why you chose to post this on a New Member thread from 4 years ago from someone who hasn't been on in 6+ months.

?

Let alone why you'd say what you did.

April is still a month away......
