Vortex quality control?

If not Vortex what are people getting these days for a good value sub $1K scope? I've been looking for a 30mm scope (or lighter 34mm) for a hunting/6 ARC bolt action (also target shooting out to 1,000 yds) and was tempted to get the 30mm 5-25x50 Viper HD but now I'm having second thoughts.

I'm also looking at the below:

I'd be a stretch for my budget but maybe one of the new NX6's (3-18x50 F1) from Nightforce?

It’s such a low percentage of scopes that have issue for Vortex or any manufacturer I wouldn’t worry. Some in your list are talked about failing also. You will get a vocal minority that their $200 scope they got on a factory rifle broke but don’t let that keep you from a Viper. They are good scopes.

I have at least a half dozen of those scopes on prairie dog rifles.

So far they are working out just fine.

I also have a couple of the 3-15 versions as well that have had the shit run out of them with no issues.

I would look at the Tract out of all these
From what I've read on the net, I have seen not 1 complaint of any Tract Scopes
---
For a Budget scope, I have looked through a couple friends Arkens, and they look good for the money

The diamondback line, I have had issues with. Turrents not tracking properly, however the scopes did hold a zero. Just couldn't rely on adjusts, dialing for first shot accuracy was a no go.

Thanks...I'm also giving a hard look at this one but it's a bit heavy for my use case (really like the features though):

Telson Target Master 5-25x56 (31oz) (# 228-TM5-25x56-MO) ($1,090)

The new shoot 2 hunt scope is running $999. Don't have any experience with it since it just hit the market. The first pre-order has just filled up so it'll be 6 months until they are going to be in people's hands.

Have a look at Sightron also.
