I see several variations of the Winchester 52. Pre-A and A through D. But I saw a video of a 52E. Does anyone have any insight on the E model?

This is my understanding as well. We have a C and a D where there is a difference there but I was told that an E was just the last evolution of the D, not a complete redo. But I am far from a Win 52 expert. The E is actually a D with an E in the serial number. There wasn’t really an E Model number in the catalog. It’s newer than the D with some changes later in the run. They stopped with the front barrel tuning screws and added a recessed crown.
They are desirable. I believe they were made from 1975-1980. I also believe some came with Kenyon triggers. Not sure how the International Match models figured into the mix.
A google search should get you more info. Beware though some info an D and E models is incorrect stemming from the Houze Book on the Winchester 52
Thanks Jerry. I forgot about the bolt handle change. It helps to identify the real McCoyAll good info. I’ve got an old catalog from the early 70’s that text says “D” model but pics show a “E” with drilled and tapped receiver with milled bolt handle to clear a scope.
Neat stuff
