Browning Rifles

Really want to say how much I LOVE my Browning rifles. 25 years ago I said I would never buy another one. Well, never say never!

Decided to try one of the XB2 Speed Ovix in 30-06 last summer. Absolute shooter and I took my biggest buck ever this past December hunt with it. Because I like it so much I decided to buy the XB2 Laminate in 7mm Rem Mag. Dealer had in in stock and just brought it out to show me since we were talking about 7mm Rem Mag. Another absolute shooter! I am so looking forward to December this year with these two rifles by my side.

Both rifles are shooting Barnes - 30-06 a 168 TTSX and the 7Mag the 139 LRX. Take a look at the targets! Browning has really won me over.

My 1990's vintage Browning A bolt Varmint Stalker, 223 Rem, is one of the most accurate out of the box rifles I ever owned. I've taken many of eastern groundhogs with it.

Likewise with the 243 Win X bolt, Hunter Model. A real white slayer.

My only issues with Browning rifles are the triggers. If they employed a Tikka or old Remington design, then I believe they would be as close to perfect for a factory rifle that a factory rifle can get.

I own an X Bolt, had too send rifle back for the sticky stock issue, yes, its a shooter. worst customer service I have dealt with in a long time. Never got updates. Took forever to fix. Was not impressed

I do admit that is the one thing that troubles me too. I did replace the trigger on the 7Mag and it is absolutely sweeeeet now. I have a new trigger that I will put on the 30-06 as well. But that is all that troubles me. Aftermarket upgrades are not my thing... except I am glad the triggers can be bought! And McMillan makes a good stock for them too! :)

I have 2 Browning BBR's from the 80's. One a 270 Win the other a 7/08 Varmint. Both are very accurate and good well made rifles although both could use a better trigger. JMO

I have a BBR .257 Roberts that despite wearing a sewer pipe for a barrel, is one of my most accurate rifles. I shortened the stock some and removed the bolt lock pin so you don't need to flip the safety off to remove a round from the chamber. My son shot his first buck with it this past fall.

Good looking young hunter, nice buck and beautiful rifle. Always liked the 257 Bob. I read at the time that Browning discontinued the BBR lineup the reason was they couldn't produce a rifle like this for the price they wanted to sell it for.

I have a Browning X-Bolt target max and absolutely love it! It is the most accurate factory rifle I've ever owned, even surpassing the Tikka T3 I had. It has the heavy profile, fluted 26" barrel and a pretty dang good trigger for a factory option. The only thing in my case that I don't like about Browning is the lack of or basically nonexistence of aftermarket parts/accessories. I would love to be able to sit the barreled action into a chassis.
