This gets my vote, I like a 243, a lot
first started with a 243
But after building a 260, I found a second love in that simple case.
same case size as 243/308,
should have more barrel life than a .243
Recoil is minimal, (def less than 7/08 or .308

Most guys here would say a 260 Ackley, and they'd be right but
That requires more expensive dies
If you wanna spring extra for the tools, I'd bump it up to a 260 A.I.

A straight .260 is an economical choice of a cartridge in that
For hunting you can simply size down .308 range brass and shoot it
and it has the capability/energy for taking Deer, Antelope etc. at longer ranges, such as 600 yds
If you wanna start punching paper at long range, get some custom brass and start hammering!

A stock that pretty really deserves something special. Another vote for the 250-3000. Very mild recoil, very efficient and excellent performer on game, from Coyotes to Mule deer.

257 roberts hits much harder than it should. I've hunted with one since 1989 along with my uncle and cousin. Great cartridge. I always wanted to build a 250-3000AI. Information suggest slightly more velocity than the standard Roberts. I can't see going wrong with either of these or the 7-08.

I love the feel and fit of the 700BDL stocks for hunting rifles. Great choice. About a zillion or so cartridges choices out there but .243 is proven and works great for varmints and deer.

For the animals you're shooting, .243 (6mm), .257, and .264 (6.5mm) are more than enough. It really comes down to personal preference. .243 Win, 6x47, 6.5x47, 6BR, 6GT, 6mm Creedmoor, 257 Roberts, 250-3000, 6.5 Creedmoor, 260 Rem, 260 AI.... they will all work and work well. If you want to hit harder then favor the 6.5/264 stuff. If you want more speed, favor the bigger 6mm/.243 cartridges. If you have a thing for highly efficient cases then the 6x47, 6.5x47, and maybe the 260 AI are where you want to go. If you want a tack driver with very little load development required then the 6BR would be hard to beat with the 6x47 and 6.5x47 close behind. If you want to be able to walk into any gunshop or sporting goods store and buy factory ammo for your rifle, then the 6.5 Needmoor is probably your best bet. If you have a thing for slightly obscure cartridges that should really be more popular, then anything in the .257 category will fit the bill.

I cannot comment of "hogs" which I assume are feral pigs but for deer and the parameters you stated, the 243 Win will work very nicely. I know, this was my first centerfire rifle in the mid 60's. Never lost a deer to it if I hit it. For many years it was the only centerfire rifle I owned. I successfully hunted deer, groundhogs, and foxes with it. It one of the truly best dual purpose hunting cartridges.

For deer, the Sierra 85 BTHP is an outstanding bullet if you make the classic behind the shoulder shot. They either drop where they stand or run a very short distance before they pile up.

I would not be concerned about barrel life for a deer cartridge. I had over 3,000 rounds through my Rem Model 700 and it still held 1 to 1 1/2 moa which is more than adequate for deer. If you exercise a few simple range precautions meaning not shooting sustained fire sequences heating the barrel, the barrel should last you a lifetime of deer hunting.

There are plenty of excellent standard cartridges available for your purpose and a wide selection of rifles to choose from. There is no need to go to wildcats or rare cartridges. The 6.5 Creedmoor might be the perfect choice if you require more stopping power for feral hogs.

It completely depends on how hard you shoot it. If it’s kept fairly cool I’d expect at least 1500-2000ish for hunting accuracy.

How hot you load it too. Lots of variables..

Well honestly I might put 50 rounds though it a year from coyote hunts , deer and target just to make sure its holding zero . No rapid fire for sure , whats the point? My main concern is the first cold bore shot anyways . Thats what counts in hunting !

I hope so , its going to get bedded . The action has been trued and blue printed , 2lb trigger . I have a 3x9x40 zerotech 30mm tube scope on order for it .
Egw picatinny rail and rings .
Barrel contour will be similar to the tikka t3 tactical but in 22in

(awsome scopes for the price I have 2 , one on my wife, hunting gun and another on target gun) thay are really bright and clear in low light !

I'm still trying to figure out if I can put a semi or matte.Gloss finish on this stock.I might not just because the action and barrel will be cerakote in a semi gloss/matt finish more of a sheen finish
