Just some friendly advice, relating to the original vintage versions, as this is somewhat common...(Speaking from personal experience and cost)Yes semi auto

thanks i’ll make it a priority to check for cracks. I’ve had a few of these Rifles years ago and yes, they have a tendency to split. Thanks again.Just some friendly advice, relating to the original vintage versions, as this is somewhat common...(Speaking from personal experience and cost)
Look carefully at the bottom of the stock, in front of and behind the action screw area, as these stocks can tend to have a hairline split due to the action screw not being tightened enough, allowing the recoil to create a split stock. The walnut stock can shrink and create the loose action screw, and/or the recoil from shooting it can do the same. This can typically be easily repaired. And you can reinforce the stock proactively, if you prefer, with a good bedding job to avoid having it split. GLWYSearch
