SELLING Custom Quilted Maple Sako

Posting a 1 of a kind custom rifle built on a Sako L579 action. Has two barrels chambered in .308 and .243. Both barrels 20” and #5 contour (or close to that contour).

The highlight of this rifle is the quilted maple stock. Not many pieces of wood out there like this one.

I've worked with some very nice maple but never even seen any like that. I'd like to have about 100 bf of that stuff..

I agree. It is a gorgeous gun. I don’t have any sakos and have been on a bit of a Benchrest rifle kick.

The stock is the main feature of this one. The barrels are both custom twist on. I’m not the first owner and don’t know the round counts but they look clean in a bore scope. I only have shot the 308 barrel and it had decent results. Trigger appears to be completely stock.

I do intend to shoot the rifles I buy. If this doesn’t sell, there are two things I will be doing and would recommend for anyone that would buy it. First, it needs a bedding job. It’s currently not bedded and the barrel isn’t free floated. Two, replace the recoil pad. I believe this was built in the 90s and the recoils pad is hard so it feels like higher recoil. It also has a 13” LOP and I think most people including myself would prefer it a tad longer.

Besides that it’s about as beautiful piece of maple as you’ll find. I see the positive messages people comment on it and makes me think I may regret selling it. I’m putting together an ELR rifle and Cerus has me on the wait list.. so need to make room and find a way to fund it. Happy to take a call or FaceTime if someone is interested. Just pm.
