Looking for a 10mm

Looking to get back into a 10mm handgun,
I've had a Delta Elite and a Goldcup but looking for a a higher capacity 10mm.
I have 5 XDME's in 9mm so im leaning toward the 4.5 XDME in 10mm but open to others,
G20 or M&P M2.0 are also on my list,
never owned a Glock or S&W to compare.
Any Input would be greatly appreciated.
Xdm elite osp 4.5" only had it 3 months testing 200gr Nosler and Accurate No920251127_083648.jpg

I bought the Glock 40 Longslide. I found the factory loads to be very anemic, so I bought a heavier spring and a custom barrel for it. My 180 grain handloads are clocking 1350 fps. I ventured over 1400 fps but they started to get a little painful for my 68 year old hands.
The grip is big but I have big hands.

I bought the same model. Bought it for a bear gun that I didn't care if I dropped it in the mud. Then I promptly pimped it with a sealed shake alive red dot and upgraded the internal parts. Now I'm not so sure I want to drop it in the mud.

As far as ammo, Underwood makes the original FBI load level ammo. Specs are very close to what you are loading and significantly hotter than a lot of factory offerings. I think the factory offerings are loaded at the same level as the short & weak (aka 40 S&W).

You might have been “the guy” that suggested I buy a red dot for mine. My first and I like it.
When I bought my gun, I grabbed a couple boxes of ammo. When I read the box and the expected velocities, I thought the same thing. 40 S&W loads! I followed a thread here with some suggestions from a guy in Alaska about heavier springs and loads. The KKM barrel was an impulse buy. Put it together and with the handloads, it’s an impressive round.

Bought a Glock 40 not too far back. Bought a bunch of Starline brass cheap, shooting 180 & 200 XTPs. I was expecting more punch on the recoil side of things but that pistol is easy to handle even though it is very long. I mostly shoot rounds that aren’t near max and aren’t powder puffs either. Even though it’s long I take it with me when checking cameras in the back country. I’m gonna try a G20, I’ve grown attached to the round, maybe a couple other pistols. I have a stribog gen3 in 9mm, they make in the 10mm too which would be a hoot.

I had an EAA Witness Hunter about 10 years ago. Went through a cartridge consolidation phase and I sold. I regret that. That steel frame really absorbed the recoil and it felt so good in the hands. Would not have wanted to drop that one in the mud though.

I like Glock pistols have a G40 and G20 both with Holosun 507 green dots. The G40 is to big unless your actually hunting and the G20 is a little snappy.

I checked those out after you mentioned it, they look like a great option. I take it EAA and Girsan are the same company now, anybody know?

Why I didn’t buy the threaded barrel, I’ll never know! A suppressor on the end would sure tame the recoil. Have you shot it suppressed?
Easy fix, do it! Then you’ll have two barrels which isn’t a bad thing anyways,

I have not, it's my backup gun to .45-70 Henry in a chest rig, I just like to spend $$ on things I don't really need

Ha! Who says you don’t need it? Aren’t there bears and monster hogs in Florida? I hear the pythons are attacking full grown men, too? If you believe the internet, that is..

Ok, now I want details! Targets, performance, etc.!
I have an Obsidian 45 suppressor that works very well on a 45, not so well on the 10mm. I could damn near shoot without hearing protection on the 45, on the 10 it still barks like a big dog. I think you need a suppressor tailored to a 10 mm to have any significant suppressing effect. Do your research before you get one for the 10mm. I may be forced to get one at some point. Let us know what you discovered should you move in that direction. As far as glock longslide threaded barrels, they are relatively cheap.
