Time to make the donuts....

Jackie how is the weather there
We are pretty lucky. The lower part of the “freeze line” that is moving accross the Country is about 100 miles north of us.

It’s cold, and will probably dip into the low twenty’s to high teens Monday morning, but that is nothing compared to what 80% of the Country is experiencing.

By Thursday it will settle into the 30’s, then warm up.

It's been -25 to -30 the last couple mornings in the MN Arrowhead...with -45 to -50 wind chills.

Only forecasted for -21 tonite and minus single digit lows through Friday so it appears the worst is past.

Drove into Visalia Friday and the weather here is BORING! Need way more snow up in Sequoia and Kings Canyon and other parts. Coming back from the hills, the flags were hanging straight down, it’s flat everywhere down in the valley, and I didn’t bring anything to shoot 1,000 yards.

Nice. I will be happy when I get to the point where I am confident enough in my bullets to start doing batches of 300 to 500.
Jim, my 2 cents worth is that you're approaching it the right way.

Starting out, I made 25 and shot five, 5 shot groups....just going up with the powder measure between groups. Then I'd go back, make a change to the bullet process, make 25 and repeat, noting any changes. It doesn't take long to see correlations.

Hope you're dug out! -Al

This thread is making me realize that I will likely never start swaging. I bought 175# of .22 cal lead wire, @20000 6mm jackets, B&A dies, A2 press, core cutter 5+ years ago and there it sits…It’s missing the punch holder nut for the press ram, which I’ve not been able to find. An excuse, I know. I can barely find time to go shoot, let alone take on this. I was thinking perhaps a retirement hobby in another year or two, but I’ve developed some peripheral neuropathy due to spinal cord stenosis. That could be a hindrance as well to my get up and go.

That's exactly what Im doing on these 108's I'm making.
No more than 25 at a time until I'm convinced they're right .

How much up and down slop are guys seeing for your core seat punch when it is mounted in your press and the punch nut is snugged down?
