Browsing Europtic and saw a Kimber open country 6.5 creed, on sale

Good deal and they must be accurate since you’re thinking of another one.
The first one I had wasn’t accurate at all. I don’t remember the background but they had someone step in and help them with their process. The second two, both very light rifles were MOA five shot rifles. Neat action in my opinion. I still have one, it’s a 84L I bought in 270 WSM, Zack installed a new barrel in 25 Saum improved. Now it’s a solid .5 Moa rifle.

The stock and action are worth the asking price on that rifle. I’m tempted to get one and have some fun with a new barrel.

So tempting. I have 3 myself. Two Montana's and a Mt. Ascent in the creedmoor. One of the lightest and most accurate factory rifles you can get in my opinion. Triggers are not horrible. You can adjust them or buy a replacement if you want. All of mine shoot dots for being so lightweight. The Mt Ascent weighs sub 6 pounds with a scope. IMG_2587.jpg

Interesting the results some have had. I have had 2 kimbers, still have one. Neither one would shoot anywhere near MOA. One in 300wsm and one in 243.
The early ones would group about as good as a 20 gauge, I tried one in 260. I ended up rebarreling it. They had the equipment but not the know how. I forgot the details but someone stepped in and helped them do it right. Mine shoot under MOA, a friend has a 280AI that will put the first three into .75 - I did very little load development on that rifle too. I’m not saying they are all tack drivers but for the pencil barrels their accuracy is pretty decent on average.

I keep debating buying one of these, just an easy way to get a 25x47 up and running, maybe a 260AI
I know! Hard to pass that price up. I think they are discontinuing the Open Country. I don't see it on their website. I have too many coals in the fire as is but damn.. can't beat that price. It would make a good foundation to build off of for sure!

The only thing I did to any of mine was to make sure the metal mag box was free to move in the mag well and make sure the barrel wasn't touching the stock anywhere. I sanded the barrel channel a bit on one and had to grind out the mag well a bit on a couple of them. Little thin barrels will shoot.

Why did I click on the link, fluted barrel, claw extractor and 3 position safety? Bah I hate you guys but I did order one :)

Would have preferred a 6.5x55 but the manbun can be downloaded to 2400fps too to enjoy a nice soft shooting rifle
