You use FFP scopes when shooting prairie dogs?
I don’t shoot prairie dogs but shoot targets about there size.

I've heard a lot of talk, about ranging with FFP scopes.
Yet the sniper wannabe's don't realize that typically there is a power setting on a SFO scope that allows you to range like a FFP.
It's just not the whole range of power available.
I'll agree with the Sightron SIII.
I picked one up used from here. 10-50X60 LRTD with 1/8 MOA clicks.
Try it some time.I don’t shoot prairie dogs but shoot targets about there size.

It’s an eye-opener.
Agree!Yup whatever power the reticle subtends correctly on a SFP scope can be used to range or use it for corresponding elevation or windage holds as well. Only problem is that that power may not be the power you want to be on to take a shot due to FOV or heavier mirage or due to mirage that power may not work for ranging with the target being blurred out with mirage waves and not giving clear edges to get a reading from.
Also ranging is just not with mil scopes as you can mil with moa scopes as well. Just a different formula or different side on the Mildot Master.
I still don't understand how anyone thought that an adjustable objective was a good idea...
I run this SFP Mueller on my target .22 and love it.

I also bought one of those but the FFP version, it was on sale so I figured how bad could it be? I put it on my rimfire cause the focus at range sucked. Tracking isn't very precise either. It works ok for 50 and 100yd work.![]()

This the best out there? For the price?
I’m not buying one now. It was a brief phase, a weak moment, but I’m through it now.I also bought one of those but the FFP version, it was on sale so I figured how bad could it be? I am not that particular about scopes, I just want good focus and to go back to a previous reticle setting. The Burris Fclass scope and Vortex PST 5-25x50 have both worked well for me at reasonable prices. I got both of them on sale as well. I wish I could justify a NF or similar, just can't.
Interesting.LOL I understand.
I had a Vortex Diamondback (4-16) that I also got during a Christmas sale. That scope was surprisingly good for the price. But, I like more than 20X these days so I gave it to someone else. I wish it was easier to try out scopes before you buy them.
I thought about an Arken as well, but now I won't spend the money one one. Yeah, the reviewers like the expensive ones, but, for that money I'd rather pick up a used NF or similar.
Interesting.
I had bought one of the first gen Diamondback Tacticals.
Once I got it home and mounted, I discovered that I was disappointed in it.
At the range, and testing beside my Crossfire II, the more p***** off I was with it.
Optically it was no better than the Crossfire II. And cost over double.
Sold it for a loss.
It probably is not that much better than the Crossfire. Vortex has so many different product lines it can get confusing as to which is really better. And if it is better in some way is that factor worth that much more?Interesting.
