Little help with what this stock may fit

I found this stock in barrel at a local gunshop/ pawn shop. For $20 I couldn’t leave it there. But now I have no clue what it mights fit. Hole to hole spacing is 7inches. It a pretty narrow stock with an opening at the action of an 1 1/8 inch wide. Has a small moth opposite the bolt like a mauser action. Anyone have any ideas?IMG_5810.jpegIMG_5811.jpegIMG_5811.jpegIMG_5812.jpegIMG_5816.jpegIMG_5813.jpegIMG_5820.jpeg

it looks a lot like a remington to me
Judging by the recoil lug cutout, 2 bolts for the action, the checkering,
I don't remember exactly how I was asked since I'm not a stock pro
and not a crazy fanatic of wood so they always get swapped out for Synthetics
but I sold a brand new stock once and the guy asked me if it was original and asked for the numbers written in the fore end like what you show in the last pic
so that to me is another identifier

Grab an R700 action and see if it fits in there
it looks like a Long Action

I did try a 700 action . Close fit but the action is actually about as wide as the stock.

It's not a Mauser, When you said "Master" I am thinking you meant Mauser, Mauser has a narrow rear tang, That stock you have has a Remington style tang, But the bottom metal inletting is very narrow, I believe your stock is for a Remington 788.

Cooper possibly? Didnt they make a model that was smaller in diameter
I had previously showed it to a couple people that worked at cooper and they thought it might be from the old cooper shop in Stevensville. Would it seem pretty
Long for a 22 action?

At 1" wide the inlet has to be for a .22lr action of some sort, that's too small for any centerfire action that I know of. The bottom metal inlet doesn't fit any of the military trainer rifles that I have either.

My money is on a Anschutz 1710 - 1712.

Also it looks like the stock may have originally been form something else and then modified. Look at the quality of the stock vs the finish of the inlet.

Not a 1710 or 1712. They have a square tang.

Someone mentioned a Kimber action as they are smaller? . I have a kinder barrel and it doesn’t fit the barrel channel at all. So I am still stumped.

That's a beautiful stock for $20!

It looks like it was a bolt action stock that someone tried to put a lever action into. But I don't really have any idea.

I was given this one. The inletting is a little different but the lug/bolt style is the same. What for? I don’t know.
