Recreational shooting of a 1911 GI style gun

My first "1911" was a Springfield Operator 9mm. Great shooter. I converted it to 22 rimfire using a Vudoo top end.

My 2nd was the MAC9 DS Comp, one of the Turkish jobs. Fun shooter and great gateway drug, eventually , pulling me into Bul Armory and Sig 1911 GTO.

Looks like AI to me. 'Cause it just ain't right! :o

The Turks are building some decent pistols far under what our US makers can offer. Labor costs there are meager compared to ours. I was skeptical but got one of the Inglis High Powers (Turkey) and agree that for the money, they're a pretty good deal. Very good CNC machine work, tight, good trigger, sights, all for $412 delivered from PSA.

But for the 1911, Kimber still gets my vote. A few of mine.....carry and range.

420 for that HP is steal. assuming it shoots halfway decent. a buddy of mine has the springfield hi-power. he sez it is a great handgun. I have so far avoided the hi-power rabbit hole. one of my biggest regrets is ignoring all the Belgian Browning HPs for sale dirt cheap at gun shows in the 80s and 90s. Now they have been discovered. One of the pretties pistols ever made.

Years ago I missed an “ex” Canadian military one, even had the back strap groove for a stock….
Ah well, Hind Sight is always 20/20….

No disrespect to Tom or Tisas but there is something odd about the opening pic of this video.

TISAS 45 ACP
None taken. AI "suggests" thumbnails for my videos. Youtube has become a lot more complicated that it used to be. You will notice there is no AI in the video. And yeah, I see that his hand is backwards. The original was my fat ass sitting there in overalls, holding the gun safely with the action locked open. "They gave me a low score for that thumbnail and suggested that as a higher ranking...SIGH. Always something

For what its worth, its a really fun gun to shoot and a great value for the price. Feeds and shoots great.

I looked at the Tisas 1911 for 2 years and just keep telling myself it was too good to be true, I refused to buy one. In the beginning they were $329 for a steel government and for $50 more you could get a stainless model. I was too skeptical to buy one, then last year at Christmas time my friend got one and I handled it, ordered one the next day. Never seen a bad review. Mine has eaten everything it was feed. wish I had jumped on the SS version. But having 2 right arms would be good too.
