Was the accuracy as good a usual on the shorter Howa?

Initial load development target. I wanted to shoot this specific bullet supersonic to gauge accuracy. There wasn’t much if any accuracy info on them at supersonic.

I did tweak the load for short range zero after swapping to the lower power scope, but still supersonic.

My to do list is some load development at subsonic speeds.

Wow, that’s excellent out of that short barrel. Howa rifles are real sleeper’s!

Savage 99 308 Win I picked up for $100 at a gun show. Someone had cut the barrel to 16.25. I put a Weaver K-1.5 on it and killed a lot of deer in northern MN and WI. 180gr RNs did the trick. Handy for still hunting and tracking. I loaned it to my nephew and then gave it to him when he killed his first deer with it. Pre-suppressors days, mid 1990s.
