I have a FX3 and just wondering if the new FoxPros sound better than the FX3? I use a hand call 95% of the time. And just wondering if the sound quality is that much better. The hunting show Carnivore they use the FREQ and they say there sound is the best.

What does everyone else say?

A couple guys I know tried them and ended up selling them not long after, they didn't think it was that great, not a game changer.

I still use 20 year old callers, an original CS-24 from 2009 and an .inaska M-1 Bandit from around 2000. Still killing coyotes with them.

I think we are seeing more crap to sell new callers instead of real innovation. But real innovation will will be difficult as audio quality has been great for years. I have some old JS CDs when played on a quality sound system will really surprise you.

I firmly believe that the machine or caller isn't near as important as location and stand management.

I am currently running a FP CS-24, a FP Patriot, Wildlife Tech and a JS Executioner. $99-$500+ and I don't have real favorite, they all work well I do like them for different situations. I do take the M-1 Bandit out just because I've run it so long and it is really handy on Bow stands.

I still have my original FoxPro FX5 and ive had a crossfire in the last that did well.

Killed several Predators too both calls.

Ive used several other brands with friends being the Lucky Duck and Icotec.

My FoxPro X24 ive had for almost 4 years has become my Favorite E-Caller ive ever used for calling Predators here in Southwest Virginia!

My fox pro is 15 years old or so. I wouldn't think about buying another until it broke. Works just fine.

Call me a conspiracy theorist, but the older I get I think most things are repackaged called better and marketed for more money. Like bows... you think a 2025 bow tech or mathews shoots any better than my 10 year old bow tech? Na. That 1p year old bow will smoke ANYTHING still just fine.

Minaska Bandit, man haven't heard about them in a long time
I had one and it was a handy caller
Now I use the Primos Alpha Dog and have used that for several years see no reason to change they all work pick one and go test it out if you like it stick with it

I have an old Johny Stwart uses 45 records from 1970 ish. Still works. Tommy Mc

Not if you have a player with good audio. 8 tracks were kind of pain, big and you couldn't record on them that I know of, that's pretty much why we went from cassettes to CD and pretty much skipped and very the I track. The only 8 track caller I can think of was a Dennis Kirk but my memory is getting a little fuzzy.

I have had a number of callers over the years, starting with the old Johnny Stewart caller (70's). My last few were pretty high powered compared to the old "Johnny". A year or two ago, I was calling with a good friend who had this little $79.00 hand-held caller - can't recall brand. It worked really well, and we called in just as well as what I was used to with the much more powerful and larger callers. This thread reminds me I need to get that model and make from him.

My Hunting partner uses the new X24 by fox pro and I use the Lucky duck Revolt. We have been alternating use just to change things up and also see if one works consistently better. We have killed a lot more coyotes with the Lucky Duck. I know thats not scientific at all and probably would call in a coyote using any one on any particular stand but thats how it's working out.

My Icotec Nightstalker is for me the best caller I've ever owned, best range for sure, not one time has it ever failed to call something in, however it wasn't always the intended species.

Back in the 60's, I used a hand / mouth caller and was quite successful but in those days in Western PA, it was strictly foxes since coyotes had not made their presences yet.

Fast forward to about 20 years ago, I purchased a Primo's Electronic Caller. It was an improvement over the hand/mouth caller for sure since I had about 5 different calls and could call remotely, a huge advantage over a mouth call. By this time, coyotes had made their appearance in Eastern PA where I now live. I had limited success with coyotes; they especially responded to the fawn distress call.

No doubt that Fox Pro and other high-quality callers are a step up, but I never could justify the cost since I just dabble in predator hunting. However, in my limited experience, wind, hunter concealment / movement, and predators being in the area that you are calling are the chief elements for success in hunting predators, not necessarily the type of call you use.

In addition, the guys who I know that are very successful hunt at night with state-of-the-art night vision equipment, as least here in the East. For an old fart like me, that's too painful and not fun. I would never be able to stay awake let alone deal with the cold in the winter at night.

I use the revolt also. I have had good luck with it. I like the super revolt but just can not justify it right now.

I'm on my 3rd FoxPro caller, it's the CS-24C and I have added additional sounds from MFK(Made For Killing). The sound quality from my original caller "The Mighty Adam" from Wildlife Technologies is by far the best sounding caller I have owned.
