A dream chassis design Your opinions

With all the chassis options out there I have one to choose from. Unless I missed something. I have a BAT M octagon 1.47 action with a builds in mind. Single shot chassis in 300 prc. Accuracy solutions seems like the only one. Not sure I like micarta as I use it in the electric field. There are a few choices from Manner and McMillian. At this time I want a chassis. So what are my options? Mdt nope

I have a cnc shop that will build me one. So I'm looking for your input with details on what is the best for elr shooting. This may come available to the public for an m action. I will shoot this gun from the bench prone or prs style. So an adjustable rider a must. Same for the butt plate and cheek mount. Front of chassis forward of the trigger guard flat but lower to re enforce the for stock and enough material to ride a bag. Moving past to the for stock. Arca to the end with M slots top bottom and sides. Thoughts I have more as well.

I'm not familiar with the differences between the BAT M and a Rem 700 footprint, but would it be possible to machine a chassis with a Rem 700 footprint and have the BAT M bedded into it?

I've had limited experiences with chassis, (AICS, MPA BA Comp, and MDT ACC Elite), and I like the MDT ACC Elite the best.

Howdy !

That metal work is all “ Too cool for school “ !

“ Form follows function “…. and, there’s a llot of functionality there !

Now…. here’s the type of work I can accomplish, when I REALLY apply myself !
HAaaa…haaa….haaaaa !!

Just my opinion but fiberglass stocks have been more agreeable. Chassis have on occasion been irritating and required some improv. Particularly with long barreled heavy rifles.
Accuracy Intl makes a very agreeable chassis
I tried an MDT first and it did not work well
A full contour 1.25" barrel also fits the enclosed forend of the Accuracy Intl
they are a little heavy , but solid, a well thought out chassis and provide excellent accuracy

I love it!!!
using some ingenuity and a little of what works around the house but the ideas are solid

Yes they are. I'm very familiar with AI.
If I was building a long barreled, long range rifle I wouldn't use a chassis. After all they are a tuning fork.

I built one on an AI chassis
started with a 1.25 34" tube, shot great but was too long to fit a gun case
So cut it down to 30" and installed a brake
---
it may not get the 1/2" 600 yard groups a 6 BR gets but....
it does well
---
The 17" long fore end really helps, plus allows to tune bipod placement

I rest my case.

?????? Have you looked at what those on the ELR leaderboards are using? In every shooting game there is a pattern among the winners. There is a similarity in their equipment. Of course there are exceptions but in general their equipment tends to be similar in many respects. Improvements tend to be evolutionary rather than revolutionary. I'd suggest you study what the leaders use and base your build upon what works. There are reasons they use and do what they do. If you want to take a revolutionary product, a new chassis, to market, it had better be winning first. Then again, don't give me no never mind. I'm just a fat old man...................

Longer forends help for other reasons besides tuning the fork
1) Balance with long heavy barrels,
2) A longer radius from the front rest to the rear bag
if the fulcrum is back too far the barrel tends to dip into the dirt
I don't like having to push DOWN on the stock to drive the gun
---
3) similar to having a longer sight radius on a pistol......
.....The longer the radius from front to rear, the less muzzle moves when the butt is moved
