.22 caliber whitetail bullet

I have a .223 with a 1 in 9" twist, 20" bbl and I'm looking for a hunting bullet for whitetail deer. My shots will be no longer than 200 yards and that would be the absolute maximum distance. Most shots would be 100 yards or less.

Recommendations?

55 grain VMAX to the ribs. Dead within seconds. Mush inside. Rib parts sticking under the hide on the far side. I've shot a bunch with this bullet from Swifts and 22-250. Have to put it into a broadside rib.

I like your style
I used to do that with 6mm 70 gr TNT bullets. and a .243 (within 100 yards)
One hop and collapsed on their front legs

I had a really good accurate load with that bullet so never had to wonder or worry where I put the crosshairs otherwise I might have used a different bullet. But it did the job every time, into the side through the ribs, exploded both lungs and 4 inch exit wound out the other ribs or the shoulder

We don't eat the ribs around here so, yeah, expendable items for shot placement

My kiddo has killed a couple caribou with a 223 ar15. One around 200 yards, one around 100. Combined they may have gone 10-12 yards after the shot. 62gr tsx

The 77 grain Sierra TMK has been killing a lot of game in the last few years.

Don't know if my 1 in 9" twist would stabilize that pill.

That or maybe Nosler 70gr Accubond.

My daughter shot a decent size whitey last year with my 6 Creedmoor and Nosler 70gr Ballistic Tip and he crumpled like a house of cards. I was actually quite surprised at the size of the exit hole.

Deer at 240 yards did not take a step

Base of bullet recovered lodged on the skin

Sierra #1395 or maybe the new 69 tipped gameking. Best I ever used. Killed my biggest buck ever with the #1395 Acted like he was hit with a 7mm Mag, Dropped instantly at 125 yds.
