Scheels Visit and Ferris Wheel

We use to take our grandsons to Sheel's for fun. Along with the Ferris Wheel they had driving type video games, a miniature bowling alley, and a shooting simulator with reacting targets. We'd spend a couple hours there.

Our son worked two summers in Webster SD as an intern. We visited him both summers. Stopped in Scheels in Rapid City SD. Next summer we hit Sioux Falls SD and Fargo ND. GREAT stores!

Sportsmans Warehouse, Bass Pro is all we have around here.. I’d like a Scheels…. In Tennessee

I grew up with Scheels in Bismarck, Minot and Fargo. The ferris wheel is pretty cool.

Scheels is also one of the last retailers who attempts to have customer service. They actually try, can't fault them there.....

I remember Scheels in Great Falls as a 'hole in the wall', now it is fantastic. The best part is the people, knowledgeable, friendly and CUSTOMER oriented. A real sales person spent quite a bit of time with us, explaining the difference of 2 Swarovski binoculars, we learned a bunch. Two of us had Swarovski's, on the return 3 of us had them. He made the sale, only a week later. They treat you like a king, even if you forget your crown. And yes, Cabela's/ Bass Pro leave much to be desired. The KNOWLEDGEABLE PEOPLE make the difference. Gray haired clerks in the gun department is a very welcome sight.

As a retail store they are quite good. I have a brother in law who purchases all his guns from them. He had issues with two that didn’t shoot worth a crap. Scheels took them back and credit for his next purchase which was usually the same day No hassle at all. Edk

I knew Fred Scheel when they had a hardware store in downtown Fargo. Amazing how well he and his family scaled that business.
Yep. Then they opened the big one on the south side, and opened one in the West Acres mall. Now they have the huge one off 45th. Was just there last week.

Interesting thread. Here in the south end of the gopher state my local Scheels, kinda small, does not have much to offer for shooters. The Cabela's is fantastic, it's near impossible to walk in and leave empty handed. Way better shooting supplies and firearms offering than the bigger stores un in the twin cities.
Up there the Edina Scheels is great, what I wish ours would be.

Like me, growing up and being able to go to a Scheels was no big deal. So every trip we went on we would always stop at Cabelas or Bass Pro. Now I appreciate the Scheels store and customer service. I haven't been in a Cabelas or Bass Pro in over 15 years.
