George Ulrich smashes 'walk-off' home run . . .

The initial George Ulrich press has been producing bullets for two months now, proving its excellence every day: extremely ergonomic and easily adjustable. It's, "dead-nutz" repeatable: the micrometer adjustable punch [length] setting being a carry-over from the B&A clones offered by George and Ed Meister many years back: this is a GREAT feature! It accommodates removing a die, changing to another operation, then, replacing the original die, and simply resetting the thimble to the recorded position. BAM! Mulitple dies, multiple operations, fast, precise return to exactly the same set-up.

This press has now been used to point about 30,000 thirty caliber bullets: it requires the least effort of any press I have, to date, used. It is close to, "a paid vacation" . . . well, NOT!:p However, at a measly $1,600, this press is worth [the proverbial] every penny.

Presuming that I did the math correctly, the precision 2" diameter column and 2" tall/deep bronze bushing make a total 18.85 square inches of surface contact area: try wearing that out! George not only hardens all of the linkages straps, and pins, but also made oil ports at every pivot-point: much over-looked, valuable features.

Another attribute is the adjustable leverage/speed aspect: the linkage straps are precision bored & spaced to accommodate increasing/reducing the stroke speed and leverage to suit the operator and/or, task. George, thoughtfully, shipped mine set at the most powerful/slowest [linkage:fulcrum] setting: pointing thirty caliber bullets, "ain't eazy". ;) There is an additional hole at the punch-block end of the push arm, which George will likely leave off of future production: he advised yours truly, "don't monkey with that one - I used green loc-tite on the punch-block bolts."

Though he knew that RG 'likes' T-D-C (top-dead-center) ramming, George set mine to just, "ever so slightly", 'cam-over': it works perfectly, accommodating ejecting & re-arming for the next cycle! I may edit this post later.

For now, Thank you, George! :D RG

edited for the correct price - George must NOT want to become inundated with orders - I can relate to THAT:p

Randy, Just a correction price is 1600$. Thanks for the review I knew you would give it a good test...
George, good to see you're not hibernating!! :p Wish I could say that i did that purposefully, to get your attention . . . but, it's just an aging & faulty memory, coupled with weak proof reading.;)

Been pointing .20Cals for some time also and this press is so smooth, that even on those, one can feel the micro-folds! The larger 'breaks' are still obvious, but I am amazed - this press is smoother than my three Meister/Ulrich B&A clones, all of which are impressive bullet swages.

I can honestly state that pointing the punny .20 Cals IS, though boring, effortless: it almost requires more effort to raise the lever and eject a finished bullet than to prod them into the point die! :) Thus far, no .224, or, .243 bullets have been processed. RG

Thanks Tim how are you doing?
I'm doing great. I told you if you ever get out to this part of the country that I'd give you the nickel tour of Yellowstone. That offer is good in perpetuity. Being retired in an area with millions of acres of public land, that has outstanding hunting and fishing, was one of my better moves in life. The best part is that the winters keep the riff raff, and most of the liberals, out of here.
