Trigger Tech Diamond 2-Stage Trigger Question

Hi all.

Trigger Tech says their 2-stage Diamond trigger (the green one) is "for Remington 700 clones". I spoke with someone who sells benchrest type triggers and he indicated that using one in an original Remington 700 action was pretty much a crap shoot. Some work fine, others not so much. Has anyone out there used one in an original Remington 700 and if so, did it work for you or did you have problems with it? If you had problems, what were they? I'm having a hard time justifying the cost of a B&A for the old 40X that I would like to put a low pull weight 2-stage trigger in.

Thanks for your input.

There were several responses. I was one of them.

ETA. I went looking for the thread in 'My content'. My responses in the original thread are no longer in 'My Content'.
Something odd going on.
Jelenko, yours was the only response I received to my first post in another location. The response from you although appreciated, did not specifically address my question as asked. I am hoping to get input from someone who has actually used or attempted to use a TT Diamond 2-stage in a Rem 700....not a clone. That was it. I deleted the first post and reposted it over here where I was hoping it would be more visible. Nothing intentionally diabolical going on. For full disclosure, I also have a wanted post for a TT Diamond 2-stage in case I can find a used one. I know the B&As would work, but I'd like to avoid spending B&A kind of money on a 65 year old 22lr 40X. Sorry if I broke any rules.

Absolutely no issue.
I was wondering if the forum software had a glitch.

I can’t provide input for your specific application. But I have a TT Diamond (single stage) and quit using it due to it having no over-travel after the trigger break. That may not be an issue for you, but it was for me.

The issue with using a TT Diamond in a factory 700 is possible slam fires its why TT recommends only using them on clones so if your willing to roll the dice.
I thought that they were just binding or something and not firing. Rolling the dice has a real down side then, other than it just doesn't function properly. Thanks!

No, the cocking piece can slam into the sear causing it to trip and fire. It can be fixed if it does by modifying the cocking piece.

Personally I would just get a Bix for your factory action its what I did for my 700 on my 30-28 im not risking it few more dollars is worth it.
I've got 2 Diamonds on 2 Defiance and they run great.
