Vortex Venom

It looked good in the store, mounted and at the range it's a total mess with light flare. My range faces east and it's impossible to shoot until late afternoon. This is not acceptable as other brands of scope I own do not have a flare issue.
I am stuck with this thing for now but looking for a suitable replacement.
I talked to a Vortex rep in August, he said it's the quality of the glass, I needed to move up to and even more expensive model. Looking through the two sies by side there is a difference, the Venom is milky, not really clear.

Rifle is a Savage 12 F/VR

Just venting, grrr

Having that problem even with the sunshade on it?

Well, I live about 40 miles from the Vortex facility and have been in there show room more than once.

They claim to have a replacement policy that says if it wasn't stolen or lost they will replace it. Now they have scopes that have been covered under their warranty.

One scope was in a fire, another was crushed another was glass shattered and so on.

Take the scope and drop a rock or brick on it and return it. Now how the brick crushed the tube is anyone guess.

They will for any sort of damage but he doesn’t have to damage it for them to look at it and fix or replace it.

@Presscollector,

I have 2 of the Crossfire II. The only thing that I don't like about them is how easy they flare out.

Had a Diamondback (first gen) and for costing almost double the Crossfire II the glass was no better and it flared out the same.
Sold it.

I don't know how the Viper and above are, but if they flare out as easily, then I'm glad I didn't spend the money on them.

I don't have that issue with the Sightrons or the Crimson Trace scopes that I have.

They don’t. I have had a Venom and mine didn’t and why I think his needs to go back to Vortex. It’s far from the norm with them and definitely not with Strike Eagle and above.
