Bottom Metal

I'm getting ready to order a Manners MCS-T4A Team stock and was leaning toward getting the Trigger Guard Inlet for a Hawkins DBM M5 bottom metal for SA action. I have never ordered a bottom metal, is this a good choice? I always just left the decision to my builder.

The Hawkins uses M5 which is a standard shared for almost all DBM. So you are good to go with the M5 inlet. If you order from Manners' they will ask you to specify the bottom metal you are using so that should make you feel better about it.

The Hawkins stuff is very nice! You should be well pleased.

That's true but most all of them are really the same inly - M5. So you aren't limiting yourself as much as it may appear.

I have the Hawkins DBM M5 in a Manners stock. No question about doing it again!

i just went through this same decision . But for a foundation stock. I ended up ordering a MDT M5 bottom metal. They have an adjustable mag catch and a slot cut to adjust your trigger. Not that either option is necessary. Just thought I’d give the MDT a try.

Hawkins M5 is all I use. I like the one with the little release latch in front of trigger guard. Never had any issue with any of em.
