How much smaller is your barrel, You can machine the block down so it will c;lamp or you may just be able to take a strip of aluminum and place it on the top of the barrel and then put the block together, It may take a bit of manipulating to get it set right, Split bushing/s out of Delrin/Acetal works good also, Hope that helps....JMy barrel block diameter on my rail gun is to big for my barrel, What material should I make a barrel collar out of so it will fit in my barrel block on my rail gun??? Thanks
Thank you so much! I was hoping you would chime in!!! My barrel is a great deal smaller like a .860 and the block was originally for a 1.5” barrel, so was curious if making split bushings was a option vs machining a new block. How much smaller is your barrel, You can machine the block down so it will c;lamp or you may just be able to take a strip of aluminum and place it on the top of the barrel and then put the block together, It may take a bit of manipulating to get it set right, Split bushing/s out of Delrin/Acetal works good also, Hope that helps....J
Yeah that's pretty small compared to the 1.450, That would be a pretty thick bushing, However it would still more than likely work. A new block may be the best bet you could also just make a new bottom part of the block and use the top part you already have, Hope that helps....JThank you so much! Yessir!! Thank you for lending your wisdom! I made a delrin filler block for the top block and bolted my barrel in this evening should see if it works tomorrow!
