I see on social media that Hodgdon are offering an 8.8lb bottle. That wouldn't be 4 kilos would it?

You and I have been buying 4Kg bottles of AR2208 {relabeled Varget for the USA market} forever aside from the now defunct 500gr bottles or the 1Kg that are still marketed.
It is indeed the 4Kg bottle and I suspect that Hodgdon is now just having ADI bottle it at the factory and put their label on it and not bringing it in in bulk to put into their 8lb bottles. Look for all their line of ADI powders to have Imperial measurements on the metric equivalents… Look for the 500gram bottles to be labeled 1lb {454grams} + 10%.. Free..!
“Bonus” extra 10%…? Don’t believe that, somewhere it will be paid for….
