Firing pin springs question

Hello I would like to change the firing pin springs on both my Bat and Defiance actions. I know I can order replacement springs directly from each respective manufacturer. However, if I wanted to order stiffer springs, is there a preferred aftermarket manufacturer that people purchase these springs from? Will the springs need to be acting specific? For reference, one action is a Bat M and the other a Defiance Deviant. Thanks.

Is there something wrong with your current springs? Contrary to popular belief, firing pin springs do not take a set from being compressed. They will get weaker from cycles of compressing and firing. Unless they have 100,000 cycles on them, they are probably still good.
Typically if you have an ignition problem it is never the spring. It is usually a lack of impact energy resulting from not enough travel.

That drag you refer to is insignificant, compared to sear drag which is a bigger deal. I have found sear drag on a good set up shouldn't be more than 2.5 lbs. I have measured sear drag on stock Remingtons anywhere from 6 to 12 lbs. When you have a main spring of 24 lbs and then it battles that much resistance it is a direct deficit and impact energy suffers.

Thank you for everyone's help. Unfortunately Wolf does not offer a replacement spring for a Bat M action. They customer service rep was on the phone with me while I took measurements. Great company and excellent customer support.

Weak springs can and will cause un explained flyers, go to BAT website to order new springs for the M action. It’s also wise to test primers after the change.
Ask me how I know that..

That's the exact issue I am chasing down. I get one or two flyers per string of 20.

Before going too far off the rails on drag, check how much bolt body to reciever clearance you have at the back end. -Al
On 700 Remington LA, placed a 0.004 feeler gage between the bolt and action and pushed the bolt to the chamber. It was very snug.

On Stiller P1000 SA, I placed a 0.002 feeler gage between the bolt and action and pushed the bolt to the chamber. It was very snug, also. 0.0025 feeler gage wouldn’t go.

Not exactly precise.

Going to see Speedy on sear drag measured.
