New Zealand 300m Tack Driver Showdown (Lite)

You will just have to believe me when I say that if I could drive there, I would be there:cool:

But that darned pesky Pacific Ocean……..
“Noah, How long can you tread water…” {:~)
Just book the flight and go… Te Araroa {Land of the Long White Cloud} is awaiting you and the $US to $NZ means you get about $1.50NZ per US$….!!!

Practice day is done. Game day tomorrow. It’s going to be windy! There is a couple of F-Class guys shooting 7mm. We have a split of BR, F-Class, Sillouette, PRS and hunting rigs. View attachment 1694332View attachment 1694333View attachment 1694334
Nice photos, wonder how often they have to replace the timber butts…??
No manual pull or electronic?
What’s the price of the SEB in NZ?
Should be cheaper as the distance to Java is much less than it is to the USA…
Trouble is that most shooting gear is priced in $US, £ or €…
However, a trip across the “ditch” is worth it if you also pick up a new AMP to take home..

What a massive 2 days at the 300m Tack Driver Showdown at the NZDA-BOP range. It’s been 2 days of telling everyone it’s not normally like this here! Fog, followed by rain on Friday. Sunny morning today but with 90 kph wind gusts and the freezing rain was back after lunch. A tree beside the firing line even fell over!

The wind was pushing the bullets around a fair bit. Definitely in favour of the larger cartridges with heavier bullets and lower BC’s. The winning cartridge was a 284AI. Second was also a 284AI, third to a 6.5CM and then a bunch of 6’s (GT’s PPC’s, XC’s) and then a menagerie of others.

Well done to Scott McLay, the 2025 New Zealand 300m Tack Driver Champion.

Next year if we have normal, lighter winds. Maybe the 6’s prevail . Only time will tell.
