Savage Target Accutrigger

I messed with one of mine tonight and still don’t see why those directions mention the trigger return spring? I get 0 adjustment out of mine. It turns but nothing changes.
I think your plan is a good one. Fred will make it right.

On the flip side, I forgot that my trigger on this action is the opposite issue of yours. I have to really turn out the rear spring just to get it not to trip. I believe the sear is either worn or was stoned too much from the factory? I have it consistent at a tad over a pound, but if I go a 1/4 turn lower it just trips the sear on the bolthandle drop. I have tried new springs, and even an entire new target trigger and springs that I had sitting here. Only thing left to do is to replace the sear. I have one on the way from Gunshack to do that.
Here’s how far my spring is turned out to get it to a pound…lol

Do either of you have shims in the trigger? If not that can make a difference with the tripping.

I also polish the surface of the sear where it slides against the pin head in the bolt, and the pin head as well. Heck, I polish all the cam surfaces on the bolt too. Might not help but it makes me feel better :)

As for me, no. Like I said, I'll let Fred deal with it now.

All my other ones are shimmed. I have more shims being shipped to me as we speak to use on this action and another one. The shims do help a lot. Makes them much more stable. Not sure that shims alone will change mine much as far as the spring being turned out so much though. We will see.

I do t have a Jard but have heard good things. May have to try one out.

Fred did mention shimming to me.
