20VT repeater

One I had propped up in corner for some time-
It’s a pac before they burnt, 1-9” Cooper contour-(1.060” breech) 28” blank ( going 20” on this one)
I emailed about a chassis today, ordered a Jard trigger, it’s on the way- don’t know if I’ll need the bottom metal, so it’ll be a order later on- if needed..

Them Chassis not cheap-!!

Nice! Might go with an MDT oryx myself, it's just a little heavier than I like.

Did you end up going with the elf owl? If so you will not be disappointed, guarantee it.

I have one for a kelbly atlas in 6br and you're right. I don't want it that heavy. What chassis you go/going with? That's the one downside I'm seeing with the mini. Not as many chassis and trigger options, but still good enough for me.

The jard is a great trigger, way better than timney for the mini.

I recommend to a lot of guys to stay away from the CZ-527, but that's my choice of small centerfire rifle.

Beings CZ-the bolt dia, length of it are the same, only difference being mech ejector vs a Sako extractor… I kinda like the mini- know more when I get the barrel chambered…

Gonna throw this out there-
I’m wanting a repeater in 20VT variants-

I wanting one to feed the case- from a magazine-

I read where one guy used a MDT/Acis mag- I call BS !!! - I have 3 varieties of 223 mags, w/ different lengths of mag lips, none feed the 221FB case- it pops out nose diving into the bottom of the barrel-on a custom SA Rem clone-

I can see the CZ 527 working (221FB version). Guessing that’s why Calhoon used them for his 19 builds…they feed.
Don’t know if a 223 version would or not w/o messing with the magazine

Now, I read where the Howa mini feeds the case.. don’t know if it’s with the factory mag or using a single follower- or some magazine modification required-….

I’ve had 3 Rem 221FB rifles..converted 1 to single shot, sold the others… so I’m not interested in the Rem at all…

I seen where 1 guy used a Howa mini & CZ bottom metal to get one to feed… so I guess anything is possible…

What would be your decision today- given the choices of current, available actions…???

I have several Bat S series in single shots… just wanting a repeater…so I’ll have to purchase the current setup to work this out…

Currently running the Howa mini 17 fireball. I have built 9 so far. Their 223 mags have 1/4” longer feed ramps than ar or aics mags. It works flawlessly. Next project is the 22vt repeater

There was another mini action, not CZ, and not Howa, as far as I know. It might have been imported by Charles Daly, or sold as a Charles Daly? It was discussed here, but not much. What happened to it?

I really wish I could remember what it was, they had made some LH versions, too, which were of interest to me. It was a "Mini Mauser" of sorts, I think.

Ok, it was the Interarms Mini Mark X first, then became a Charles Daly of some sort probably with some other incarnations. It was discussed on this site. I do not know if someone brought it up in this current thread. I have not read all of it. Talk seems to have died down on this action.

This is a little project I just finished up. I've posted it on a couple of forums but thought maybe some here might enjoy a low buck, bargain rack project.

At one of the local gun shops on the semi-daily stop to see what components may have come in, this little rifle was on the 'Used Rifles' rack. Times being what they are, anything decent that's used just doesn't stay around long so there had to be more to the story.

It was an Interarms Mini Mark X chambered in 223. These are sometimes called 'Mini Mausers' but other than the bolt shroud, they are almost a duplicate of the little...

Yes, and I found that before that it was some Charles Daly and before that an Interarms Mini Mark X.
