With the screw in Lens caps available, I would think a good machinist could bore it out ??

Thanks... that would be my last resort, however im pretty sure someone out there
already has the tooling and made them in the past.
It was and should be an off the shelf item.
 
Thanks fellas...appreciate every ones help...a buddy just called and he's got one for me.
So my quest is over...and yes its a threaded ring with a hole in it.....thanks again.
