Firing Pin Hole Rough Edge

Cleaning and noticed this rough edge on both of my bolts. I checked my other hunting rifles etc and its just occurring bon my F Class guns. Is this a problem? I dont shoot super hot and never observed any primer failure or issues. Hoping this is not an issue. Thanks in advance for your replies. GR.

If you are looking at the ring in the bolt face, that comes from gas leakage between the primer and brass case. Could be primer pockets are swelled from too many reloadings. Could be a headspace issue, where upon ignition the primer is pushed partially out of the pocket, then the brass "catches up" as it expands to the bolt face,,,,,, allowing some gas leakage. What primer are you using? Do they feel tight when you seat them in their 'pocket'? Where these rifles built using used actions, and the bolt faces scared like this when you got 'um? Not certain if it hurts anything, but is an indication of a current or previous problem, and is da*ned unsightly. Loads that are too hot, over pressure, can cause that gas leakage, too.

Right Savage Azis 223 normal.
Left Remington 600 in 243. Blow out from defective primers.

Both shoot ok.

Even my M16 kept running with this bolt face.

The round count has a lot to do with it. More rounds fired, more noticeable.
I worry about other things.

These are Borden BRMXD. CCI - 200 Primer, never noticed any losse pockets and I bump shoulder to 2-3 thou and check nearly every one as I size. This is why I am confused as both bolts have that little half moon rough edge.. albeit magnified and hard to see with the naked eye. I’ve read about gas cutting therefor posted this to determine from you experts if I’ve got a problem. I am going to seat some primers in my 8x fired brass that I retired ( for no good reason really) and compare the presuure to my 2 x fired brass. I just hope I’m not seeing something that will get worse….

In the photo of the firing pin hole there is a rough edge , half moon shaped… magnified it is rough while the othere 2/3 of the firing pin hole are clean edged…..

NATO ammo uses a sealer. I wounder if it would stop gas leakage?
Crimped in NATO primers dont move on firing? Maybe we should crimp our primers.

Both F Class guns? That would be strange, to me. No gas leakage from it, not a problem.

Cci200 are not a very robust primer. Try some Rem 7 1/2s.

The firing pins look good, no roughness or burns using phone magnifier. I may have missed looking at a few primers after firing. Early on with this 7 PRCW I graduated upward in powder charge until I had ejector marks / imprint on back of brass. One I found pressure I feel like I’ve stayed away from it shooting at around 2900… usually 2880 or so. At the time there was a bunch of discussion about clickers, I’ve never had a clicker.

If you look at a fired primer do you see any mark that would have come from the firing pin hole?

I'm thinking this isn't a problem but something happened during its lifetime and should be avoided in the future.

Dont see anything other than firing pin dimple..
