6.5 bullet(s) for 1 mile

I shoot my 6.5CM at a 1 MOA plate at a mile and can make pretty consistent hits on it. I use the Berger 144 LRHT. For a 6.5 cartridge of any flavor, you need to have your loads dialed below 10 FPS ES (20 FPS ES will have you vertically all over the place at a mile) and learn how to read the wind.

I have tried their .308 bullets and they're great but pricey
So have not tested their 6.5's yet

For a Solid, they have the highest BC without having to go with insanely tight twists
Usually you can use your factory twist or 1 twist tighter for their bullets
The ones I used were so consistent from one to the next, there is no need to segregate them
10 FPS ES. Not that there’s any place even remotely close to here to shoot a mile. So much for factory loads at a mile. My new chronograph has REALLY educated me on the variability of factory ammo.
I shoot the 153 ATips in my 8 twist and they shoot great. I have shot the 140 ELDs in my 6.5 Creedmoor to a mile but it was a windy day and it wasn’t easy. The 147 ELDs should do the job too.
I've shot factory hornady loads at a mile with a ES of around 40 fps, I was hitting 20 inches high then the next round was 18 inches low. It's a guessing game at that point. My vertical spread was around 67 inches between the lowest velocity and the highest velocity at 1800 yards with hornady factory ammo.
It's all learning brother. Go shoot and have fun but it can get disheartening shooting bad ammo at distance and not making hits.

The Nice thing about, the 6.5 PRC is, the Extra Velocity to, "Handle" the Heavier 147, 153 and 156, Grain Bullets !
The Draw Back over, the 6.5 Creed, IS,.. Barrel Life ( If, you Like to,.. Shoot,.. a LOT )
The 25% More Powder volume ( 250-300 fps more, Vel. ) = 1/2 ,.. the Barrel "Life"

Now that’s educational. Are the eldm factory rounds that bad?
I've never had good luck with their hornady eld match ammo. They shoot decent groups at 100 yards, But the vertical stringing becomes really apparent 800 and out.
Not in the Creedmoor as that is what I was shooting at a mile and nothing like that.
Problem with the little solids is spotting, even 338 solids can be difficult compared to cup/core.
I’ve seen Hornandy 6.5 eldm ammo do ok at a mile a few times.
The hunting bullets loads can get wonky sometimes but a Mile is unreasonable expectation for a hunting load.
