Bartlien MOD 400, experiences?

Anyone have any real-world experience with them as far as wear / durability?

I am one of those guys who measures throat erosion every 100 rounds or so and then bumps the OAL forward by the mount of throat death that has occurred.

I have a couple of barrel burners (.0065 per 100 rounds of throat death) that might stay in tune longer if the juice is worth the squeeze with these barrels.

I’ve seen a post on the hide that a few guys used a coating something similar to armoloy but no one responded to the testing question. Frank Green was trying to get test results as well.

So how much more is the bartlien mod 400 and how much more wear and tear is it on the reamer? Thanks.
Does it cut different than 416R. Yes No adjustment to speeds and feeds needed. How long will reamers last? I don't know. Just like 416R that depends on your process. I get 60-80 chambers out of HSS reamers . I take them offline because of throat wear. They are not like the Lothar Walthar barrels where reamers are done in 5 chambers and require a special lube. Carbide is your friend on the L-W barrels.

I've had a few sharpened over the years. Most were fine but some weren't. With the volume of barrels I did at one time the expense was minimal. Less than $5 a barrel. So I just went with new. No reason to try and save a few bucks.
I need to make a list of those reamers and sell them.

Have u ever tried a nitrided bbl? Our shooting group have hardened several 6.5x284 n 243 SLR bbs n gotten extended bbl life with this process. We are not benchrest shooters, just MR n LR prone competitors n accuracy for us has been excellent.

I have done a 300 limp on mod 400. Its going to be over .010 per 100.
That is worse than I thought it would be, was that with N570? I figured it would be about like my 33 XC and be around .0065 per 100. I plan on trying H50 and 24N41 to start. I wish RE33 would come back......

I am not trying to wring every bit of velocity out of it, it will be interesting to see if I can get it to work.
