New primer manufacturer coming

Socialist Capitol of the Central US. I left there after a week in Idaho, and it was not because of the climate.
The story goes "our Governors serve two terms. One in the Governor's Mansion and one in the Big House...".

Steve: the Port does not run to our part of the country. It goes the opposite direction.

That's what I was thinking also. Maybe export is a major factor. Multi national interest. Who knows where the money is coming from? That way they have options.

Hold up on Illinois, Litchfield is south of Springfield and north of Metro East right on I-55. so trucking freight is a easy button, how many interstates run through IL , well we are no Chicago down this part of the state. Sadly I will not argue IL politics suck, big time!! And yes JB its Dem through and through and rich sumbich too. He could not care less about us. Rail freight is also good to go here.

With that said I am all for new manufacturing here. Shocked it came or is coming but awesome just the same. There are fine folks here in IL, lifers we have to deal with it. Not all of us can pick up and move next door, as much as I would like to.

I work with two folks from Illinois - one her dad was dairy farmer and other I’m not sure but they are good people. They may sound funny around here but good country peeps in my opinion that work hard and good morals. Never asked how they ended up in NC but I’m glad they’re here ! I’m sure there’s good folks to man the new facility and regardless of reason for building there I’m just glad there will be new manufacturers for primers. Headed in right direction either way you see things even if most primers go for military.

I'm not pro illinois but Springfield armory, Rock River Arms, Devil dog Arms and probably several more i don't know about are in Illinois.
If the good people of Illinois get more 2nd Amendment business leverage the better off they are.
I live about 15 miles from where the plant is proposed. They selected a good area to build. We are a mostly rural area that has lost some of our manufacturing, power plants etc…in recent years. I think they will attract a good labor force. We do have our share of politics but I think both parties are supportive of new manufacturing. Most of IL is rural and likely like minded with folks on this forum. Our kids grow up hunting and fishing, the schools grant excused absence for opening day of deer season…….

I should have looked at a map sooner. It looks like Litchfield is only about 40 miles from St. Louis. Zoned for commercial / industrial use now. Perfect for that. Lots of options for shipping. Hope it's a good thing for the people that live there.
