Delrin rod for range emergencies

Anybody have a source for a delrin rod for 6mm, say 3 feet long? Needless to say, stuck a bullet when trying to unload and show clear at the range. Thanks in advance.

A wooden dowel works just fine and it’s a lot cheaper! However go on Amazon the have most shapes and sizes of Delrin.

I use a small brass rod cut to about 6" in length. They are sold at Ace hardware stores for a few bucks.

according to plan, and why I keep a 7075 long aluminum rod in
my rifle case. And sometimes that don't work......Been there

Smallest I carry in delrin rod is 1/4". But, it is very flimsy and would not be good at removing a stuck bullet. A length of brass rod works very well.

A really stuck bullet will destroy the ferrule on a cleaning rod.

I carry (in my truck) brass rods in different diameters for rifle (don't remember if I can clear a .177, but .20 through .308 is covered) and have a selection of rods in my pistol box. Brass rods are available at most hobby shops and a lot of hardware stores.

Running a coated cleaning rod down the muzzle end will cause the crown to ruin your cleaning rod.
Delrin is soft and leaves nothing behind.

I took a brass jag and cut the nose flat. Put that on your cleaning rod and it usually works just fine. A full brass rod from Lowes or such if you have to get serious.

You can also drop an appropriately sized brass rod down the bore if the rifle can be held vertically. My mentor called it a drop rod. That way you can just store it in your cleaning stuff. If you need more oomph, then it can be pushed or tapped with a cleaning rod with the jag removed.

I got one after I saw yours. It has paid for itself many times over- I charge people $100 to use it. It's like selling water in the desert!

^^^ This right here! it is much more dense than Derlin or wood and works much better.
