Yep…USPS Again

I ordered a book from an online bookstore 8 miles from my house. It went to Detroit, Toledo, Columbus, Indianapolis , and then back to South Bend.

And you didn't drive 8 miles to pick it up in person?? Thinking you were just asking for trouble.

It is not only the post office. I had a good size order coming that was shipped FedEx. It was in 8 different boxes. Tracking showed delivery was to be on Saturday. Then I received a message that it was changed to Monday. Then Saturday evening, in pulls FedEx. But he only had 5 of the 8 boxes. Tracking shows the missing 3 boxes went to Iowa. I am in Michigan. Nothing shows up on Monday. Then I get a message that delivery is Tuesday. Then it is changed to Wednesday. And then Tuesday one of the three missing boxes show up. And finally, Wednesday the last two boxes show up.

Smooth as silk!! Lmao. At least you finally got all the pieces.

I sold some brass and the fellow sent a check Priority mail. Tomorrow will be three weeks since he mailed it and no show yet. NC to CO

That happened to me early Spring this year in a payment letter I sent to a seller here. My letter was stolen in the mail, the check was "washed" and a much larger number was written in, signature was illegible, payee was illegible. It was deposited into an electronic banking machine and my account was hit with a withdrawl. I got my $ back instantly, my bank did also, no idea if if the credit union accepting it did. A royal FU in getting the account locked and then a new one setup and all the auto debits changed over. Reported to Postal office, and I never heard back from them. The amount they tried to steal was big enough it was a felony theft. IMO, check your bank account and consider a stop payment.

Usps has got me in a emotional roller coaster just when you think it might be moving again. Everything goes silent for 2 or 3 day then it moves again back and forth between 2 places stuck limbo and nothing you can dooooooooooooooooo

So you are not totally disappointed with me.

It is an online only bookstore..... I tried to pick up a previous book and there was no pick up in person option. I even stopped by with no success.

They now ship books in a plastic mailers. I sent the following message:

It seems the postal service considers damaging books a professional sport. They seem to take special glee in damaging books shipped in plastic mailers. I have had so many books damaged, I now check to see if they are shipped well-protected in boxes.

As a second option.... I live in South Bend.

They told me the mailers were the only option, and I stopped buying from them as the books arrive damaged.

I had a scope sit at Indianapolis for a over a month.

I probably mentioned it before but, I shipped a pretty good size package First Class and Insured to my youngest in Minnesota.
Left our rural PO and headed to a SF distribution warehouse.
Left SF and landed in Minneapolis dist. point, then back to SF, then back to Minneapolis then back to SF then back to Minneapolis.
Don't remember how many times it made the trip but the worst part? NO Sky MILES!!
Headed to our local PO and mentioned it to the PM and showed him the tracking info. One email from him and someone kicked off the package belt and got it on it's way to it's destination. Got there in 2 days.

I had a boretech arrive like that from Amazon. Reordered through Midway and it came in a hard tube.Ridiculous!

I don't remember what vendor I was trying to order a cleaning rod from. But after the third time the rod was re-sent and arrived bent, I gave up and ordered from a different vendor. They put it inside a heavy-wall cardboard tube with the ends capped and taped. It arrived unmolested the first time.
You'd think a company would learn eventually.
