Requesting guidance on specs for a target scope for 1000 yard BR and ELR to 1500 yards that weighs less than 26 OZ and costs around 1000.00 bucks. I dont expect any current OEM will listen and make it but i will send emails anyway after receiving feedback from AS members...maybe something close already exists???
Due to the 17LB LG weight limit in 1000 yd BR and my choice of barrel profiles, stock and accessories i am currently limited to a scope that weighs 26oz or less. The only decent quality scope i have found with specs close to what i want is the Sightron 45x ED, which cost a bit more then 1K but it only has 50MOA of elevation. I need 80 MOA on the turret and another 10-20 in the reticle. Already have 20 and 30 MOA rails.
Given the weight restriction of 26 oz, and i would consider going a couple hundred bucks more...dont need both kidneys....what specs would AS members request in a scope used for this purpose?
I am thinking 30mm tube, 50mm objective, 40x-50x fixed power, exit pupil 1.3 mm or more(very important for old eyes), standard diopter adjustment, parallax adjustment of their choice either on the objective or in the tube, SFP, floating dot reticle with 1/8 MOA dot or fine crosshair with subtentions for an extra 10-20 moa, i could make 1/4 MOA turret adjustments work but of course 1/8 would be better. i can also live with a little chromatic aberration on the edges so tier 1 glass is not absolutely required.
thoughts anyone? thanks in advance!
