6ppc accuracy load

Trouble is the Boyer method in the book is outdated. He has a different system for finding out if a barrel will shoot the way he wants it too or not.
Agreed, although it worked for him and is still a good place to start.

We touched on this in a previous post of mine and you were very kind to share Tony's refinement to his method. I learned a lots from the guys contributing to that thread. For those unfamiliar with the thread and your, and the other helpful comments, here is the link: https://forum.accurateshooter.com/threads/6br-boyer-method-help-needed.3958321/

I know less than anyone that has posted so far, but I'd say try a different bullet. I tried for 100 rounds to make a very popular, match winning custom bullets shoot in my new barrel. (It shot good in my old barrel). Changed to different custom bullet and it did much better. FWIW

Is the more recent method described anywhere?
This is post #4 from the link Ccrider posted above:

"Tony changed his method about 8-10 years ago. He starts at "touch" and only goes into the lands. He does not shoot "jumped " bullets. With the touch method he loads three loads with each seating depth....a mild, a medium and a hot load. He shoots 3-shot groups with each powder charge at touch; at .003 in; .006 in, etc.

When he finds a seating depth that will shoot (not only small) but will shoot to the same relative position on the target with all three charges. After analyzing the target he may check his "best" load with a 5-shot group. He prefers to shoot the hotter loads."

I thought the method you noted from post #4 was the Tony Boyer method. If I understand this correctly, the difference between the Tony Boyer method in the book and the "changed" method is where you start the bullet? Start at Touch Point instead of Jam?

That is correct.
