Any updates on the Alpha 6 PPC brass

I know all the initial impressions of it were pretty good but has anybody used the Alpha PPC brass long enough to wear some out yet? Is it still shooting small after 10 or more reloads? Are primer pockets still good after running 68 gr bullets north of 3400 fps for 10 or more reloads??

Yeah see the PMA monthly newsletter we got yesterday, he seems happy with it.

In PMA tool’s latest newsletter he states he’s retiring a batch that’s been loaded 37 times.
Primer pockets are still tight.

Yeah,37 reloads and primer pockets ok,but why were they retired....case head separation?...split necks?....work hardened?...or "just because".

Eric, we have some of the first batch that came out that have 12 firings on them. Still shooting well and pockets are still tight. We're running 68's and 66's near and over 3400. Talk with Pat at PMA about his experience with them. As with about any other brass just watch the neck length and thickness. JME. If nothing else..... a box of 100 of it is worth a try in my experience. WD.

Thanx Wayne I believe I’m gonna give it a shot.

If I remember what I read in the PMA newsletter the brass was loaded 37 times without annealing.
I don't remember him mentioning any failures on the brass. Maybe you could ask when when you call to order some? ;)

Waiting for the bolt to get back, had it nitrited. Rounds are loaded and will fireform at a match.
Also I like the idea I don't have to expand the necks, I'm not trimming because I use a .273 neck on Alpha brass and a .274 neck on Lapua brass, probably only make 22PPC out of Lapua if the Alpha works good, but Speedy and Jackie both said they liked it at TD5.

My opinion is it is no better, or worse than a 6PPC made from a Lapua 220 Russian Case.
It simply removes a major step since you are starting out with a fully formed PPC case. You turn the necks, fire them once, and they are ready to go to the line.
One item of note. Alpha did it right. Their case is just about a direct copy, dimensionally wise, as the 6PPC made from the Lapua 220 Russian case, which is by far the most popular.

I’ll be happy with that.
