222s, show yours

Bought this rifle 3 weeks ago on gunbroker, Tikka master sporter 222. I was able to pick it up today. I can’t find any evidence it was ever used or even shot. Crown is immaculate, bolt face is as new, no wear on the bolt or lugs. Pretty happy about this one, I’ve been after this rifle for a long time. Can’t wait to put together a load or two and see what it does. I have an Burris Signature that I think will look right and serve the purpose, start with that anyways.

Out of those 5 the Remington BDL. All of them shoot small though, typical 222. Doesn’t take much to find a load. I’ve since picked up a Tikka Master Sporter 222 that is the most accurate production 222 I have or have had.
Nakneker, have you had a chance to shoot your Tikka and get it lined out? inquiring minds want to know. disregard, i just saw your post. that was a great purchase. very underrated rifles

Here’s some recently shot targets. The rifle shoots. H4198, Lapua brass, 52 grain Bad Grass bullets, I don’t remthe primer on that load, I’m currently on the road or I would go look. Pictures of the targets are accidentally posted upside down. 100 yards, 5 shots each, targets shot on two days, the targets with some horizontal were on shot on a day with 5-10 mph cross wind, the others were shot on day that was dead calm.

Great shooting! I am about to start loading 222 for 40x. Guys like you are super helpful!

I wish Howa would do another run on 222 Remington in the mini version. I had seen in the past where Brownell's had some for sale and they where gone before I could get one. Nice to see them again in a 1/12" twist. The Howa triggers are great for my part with a 222 barrel they would be a great combo for gophers here in Montana.

I bought one for my niece years ago, she wanted to go calling and likes shooting. Ironically it’s at the house and I’m loading for it. It shot good with the first load I tried, 50 grain ballistic tips and H322 but she wants to try some new loads in it, should be fun. It’s an accurate little rifle and at the time I think I paid under 450.00 for it.

What a cool thread. I haven’t posted in a long time but couldn’t resist keeping this thread moving. These are all a bit obscure. Savage Series J, Sako 75 Varmint, and a Tikka Master Sporter factory 222. Had a 700 classic and ADL too and never should have sold them. Every 222 I’ve ever loaded for shoots the same load of H4198 and a 40 V Max extremely well, with minor COL adjustments only between rifles.
Well, I added another 222 to the group. I just can’t seem to resist these things.
This one got imported from Europe by a local gun shop. Tikka 595 Continental Varmint with an adjustable comb. Chambered in 222. Stock will be getting refinished this fall but can’t wait to put this one on paper.

A prefix Remington 788. KT-16 Weaver.

Like the above statement........"ugly as sin but boy does it shoot".
Not as ugly as a Savage....like tryin' to make silk out of a sows ear.... Shilen 222, Rifle Basics Comp, aluminum 3" forearm rail, Limbsaver, bush the pin hole, and brake.

I've thought about painting 'er but that'd be like dressin' up Cinderella to go to the pig roast.

But ya she shoots too... PXL_20250411_133120867.MP-1.jpg
