Single stage press

Hello. Ive been thinking of getting a single stage press
Ive owned a Lee classic cast and sold it
After i got a redding T-7 turret press.
There is some nasty work that needs to be done at a press if you reload long enough..some of those chores can really beat on a good press.
Like sizing a 1000 military brass
Of case forming. I dont really like using the T-7 for those chores.
I like the looks of the redding big boss ll its about 288$
The lee classic cast has a larger case capacity.
Its about 200$.
Any one see the point of paying 88$ more for green vs red paint for an hard working press

RCBS Rebel, or the Redding Big Boss II, you can't go wrong with either. RCBS CS is second to none.

If you're interested in a RCBS Rebel, let me know. I bought it about 2 years ago for the primercatcher design, and used it a couple of times, but mostly continue to use my RC IV. Am a bit north of Cinci.

For $88 I wouldn’t think twice on tripping the trigger on the Big bossll, I own both and prefer the Redding but have several rcbs and they have worked flawlessly for years. The Rebel you have been offered will serve you well

I still use my old Rock Chucker quite a bit but did add a Supreme a
couple of years ago. The Rebel was not available at the time but would
have purchased that over the Supreme for having even more mass, a
larger opening, and solid steel toggles over the cast toggle models.
For some of my full wildcat projects, the Supreme works quite well.
The Rebel will give me more insurance if anything tougher comes my
way, and it will.......

There both great presses, the Mec is really smooth but for real tough jobs I think the Big Boss has the upper hand

Looks like the big boss has a good amount of leverage. My lee classic cast takes more effort than my rock chucker, but works well.

Ive had a Big Boss 2 and a Rockchucker. Gave the RCBS to my son in law to get him statretd in reloading when i bought a MEC. Actually liked the RCBS more as I began to used the Redding on a regular basis.. Had to send the Redding back for a seemingly out of spec ram. It was not very smooth. they replaced the ram and its very smooth. Primer catchers are a tossup on both presses. I used ti shim it with a piece of cardboard to keep it more snug to the primer drop slot. The original primer catcher on the Rockchucker throws primers around. A aftermarket catcher was a bit better. The tube on the redding is good. But as it gets older it falls off on its own. Due for a small clamp of sorts. The handle on the RCBS is ambidextrous but the Redding is not. If looking for a single stage press after owning both I think I would buy another RCBS over the Redding. If not either of those I would try a Forster Co-ax.

I've been using a Lee CC for the last 12 yrs and find it a great press. Does everything I need it to do and I load from a 6ppc to a 30/378 Weatherby. No problem

If I were the OP I would contact The German from post 3 and make a deal.

I have a BB2 press and really like it, even better than my old rockchucker.

That really explains a lot… I can only wish I had a full dedicated reloading room and not having to make due by clearing a space on my computer desk..

ive got a coax and T7–. have an ultramag i use for case forming and a rcbs JR i use for dirty decapping duty. id prob use the ultramag for the 1000 military brass just because of its leverage. dont really like how you cant slide cases in from the side though. if i was sizing 1000 mil brass often and they were 223 or 308 id set up the dillon to do it. id like to try a lee classic cast with the 50 bmg dies in a way but im not a Lee fan.

my bench is bigger than yours Bat but the level of organizaion is similar and like you it will never be completely organized in my lifetime— i love it
