Stuck case remover

Texas Solo

B.S. High Master
At a recent match, my partner had a case head separation. He asked if anyone had a case remover and someone did. He extracted the broken case from his chamber without issue.
Looking at stuck case removers online, all I see is descriptions of removing a case from a die. Drill, tap, etc. Would this case remover also work on a separated case in a chamber? I don't see how it could.
I'd like to get one to carry in my bag...just in case. But I'm at a loss to find one that mentions removing a case from the chamber.
Any help appreciated.

In the field or at a match....Run oversized brush run in from the breech, catch the case mouth and hope it comes out.

In the shop I've used an appropriate size tap, turned in slightly to catch the broken front end and remove.

Not looking for a tap type fix. The one we used inserted then expanded by turning a knob.
I've only seen them for 223 and 308 case heads...I have one for 223 somewhere but don't recall ever successfully using it. However I've definitely removed seperated 223 cases with a 3/8 tap.

I had it happen in my 6mm Competition Match. I called David Bruno who chambered the barrel. He told me to take a new 30 caliber brass brush and my cleaning rod, shove the brush into the neck and enough out the mouth of the case. Yank hard and fast , it came out easily.
After that my buddy made a broken case extraction set that consisted of a short 2 piece rod and a 30 caliber brush. He used that thing for himself and others at a few PRS matches. He always has it.

Thanks for the tip. I will get one ready to have.

"Broken Case Extractor" is what they're called. Got one for every caliber I shoot. Don't hit the bench without one!! Even had a couple made up for some of my odd ball wildcat rounds. You get that works for YOU!!
