New gun show!

Texas Solo

B.S. High Master
The city of Millbrook, AL has built a mega dollar sports complex. Very happy to see that a gun show will occur there April 12 & 13.
Only other show around here was in Montgomery, and it was LAME! Everything was overpriced junk. Like $200 for a brick of CCI400 primers. Hoping this facility will bring more and honest vendors.

The City of Hoover pulled the plug on AGCA March Gun Show because of the impeding bad weather so there are probably people looking for a place to get a table.
Could be a good show but, as Montgomery area isn't that good a place for gun shops, expect some of those high end primers to still be around.

Same group, same vendors as Montgomery. I’m sure trying to get away from the riff raff of Montgomery. But what they fail to understand, the majority of crime (thefts & shootings) in Millbrook is caused by Montgomery residents. A 15 minute trip to Millbrook isn’t going to stop their hopes of buying &/or stealing a firearm to carry back to the streets.
I’m just minutes from there and wouldn’t even consider attending, much less setting up a table. One show in Montgomery was enough for me. You know what’s going on when the first thing they ask is, “is any paperwork involved”. Besides, it’s not worth having to keep your eyes on one individual as another tries to distract you. All I can say is, I hope Millbrook has a good presence of officers there!

IMO and experience gun show vendors usually overprice their stuff. If I see something I might want I make an offer, and if we can't reach a price I thank them and head elsewhere. Fun to look though.

I have never even thought of people trying to steal from the tables.

I hope the new gun show goes great! I sure miss going to gun shows. For me in the western part of Pennsylvania, they died back in the 1990s.

It seems Montgomery hasn't changed a bit since I lived there in 1979.

From what I can tell most shows these days are pretty much a regional circuit, where the same vendors drag the same over priced junk from show to show within a given area. You usually have to travel a ways to see some different over priced junk. I gave up on them several years ago.

What's worse is that they charge you to get in the door. So let me get this straight; You want me to pay to see your overpriced junk!?

I believe most of the deals to be had are between the dealers when they set up. That, and hanging around all day hoping something nice walks through the door.

It’s hard to justify parking fees, if charged, and entrance fees.

What’s the chance of something nice walking through the door- never mind ;)
