After exhausting what little patience I have on various versions of my Savage 12BR rifle, a few months ago I bought a used BR rifle with a Rem. 700 short action, Jewel trigger, and a 30" heavy barrel in 6.5-284.

Shot that a little but then got the hots for an aftermarket Rem.700SA-format action and bought a Kauger BR...
...and ordered three RemAge barrels for it.. All with 7.5" twists, those are a 29"er in 25 Creedmoor by X-Caliber and 27"ers* from Preferred in 25WSSM and 25-284.. The X-C arrived first and the Preferreds will arrive tomorrow.. I'll have a buddy in Tucson bed the action, install the trigger and one of these barrels...probably the 25-284...and relieve the barrel channel for the barrelnuts... So SOON, I'll have THREE 'new rifles' to play with. (I have pairs of headspace gages for all three and can switch barrels myself.)
Also bought a used set of Starrett Small Hole Gages to measure chamber-neck diameter so I can thin the case necks correctly.. Also with the barrels not installed, I can easily determine correct 'at the lands' seating depths for all of my 0.257" bullets.
Also have actually started my decades-long and -ignored cleanup of all the piles of stuff I have around the house.. Here, for instance, is all the powder I have which has been in several locations but is now in ONE.

I hope my diminished skills (at age 81) are high enough to get at least one of these barrels shooting well; it they are not, all this will be for sale soon.
* Preferred's longest barrel
