7saum or 7-6.5 prcw Tikka Prefit for ELR?

I have a ton of time to research powder, but Im going to look for free shipping tomorrow and get the saum brass while I can. Its about to be 120 in vegas till fall. Order barrel this summer, scope and the rest of the stuff Black Friday. Try to hit a mile for new year.

I’d render like a piece of bacon in 120. I’m just east of you in Four Corners area. We got snow again overnight, it’s currently 25 high of 39 today. But supposedly upper 60’s later this coming week.

300x7= 2100. Im not expecting that much barrel life. I was thinking more like 1500. Id sure hope adg lasts a lot longer than Remington! 300 pieces of adg is 600 bucks!

With 150 i figure that gives 50 for testing, zeroing, sighters, culling a bad piece etc and 100 for actual shooting.

Looks like fclass guys are saying possibly less than 1k and some as much as 1500. Of course they shoot some fast strings and only accept super accuracy. So maybe 2000 is possible.

With 150 pieces its more like 13 loadings for 2k rounds. Maybe 200 pieces will do me, but dang thats some coin.
I have a buddy shooting a 7SAUM in F Open and he says barrel life is 1’100-1’200 before it's new barrel time… The 7PRCW should give you a bit better life than that especially keeping it in the mid 2’800 range, brass life will be better than a SAUM as primer pockets in the rebated case don’t have as much support as the full size parent case 6.5 PRC.

I have H4831Sc, H1000, N560 and N565 to test with when I get mine chambered. A friend loves RL23 for his saum, but it’s nonexistent these days.
I think you will find that H4831sc will be a winner with either the 7SAUM or 7PRCW or if going for the 190’s perhaps the slower H1000.
The 4831sc is working well with 180’s & 184’s in my 280AI and a fellow shooter with a 7SAUM is also finding it working well with the same bullets.
Both of our rifles are using a 1:8.5 barrels.
The double base powders burn hotter {N series with Nitroglycerin} = shorter barrel life.
