Which 6.5 bullets for competition

I was just wondering which custom bullet most use in 6.5 140grain bullet people are using these days for competition. I currently use Berger 140 grain hybrids for a 1:8 twist barrel. But did not know if there is any custom makers that have stock readily available? Any comments are welcome.

I think these are still being made available periodically.
Epps, 142gr James Eazor....
Or get your name on the list for 139gr Vapor Trails.
That's all I know of, there may be a couple others I don't know about.

In the meantime if u are waiting on the customs try the Berger 140 gr. Long Range Target and the Sierra 142 gr. MK. U may be surprised at the results.
I'll second the Berger LR Target. This bullet should get more attention than it does. It is a very agreeable bullet when it comes to seating depth, easy to tune and produces excellent precision. I grab these before the Hybrids for mid-range.

It depends on what discipline you're asking about. For steel lots of bullets will do. For benchrest and F Open the 140 Hybrid is extremely good. The Sierra 142MK is a good bullet too and extremely easy to work with. Myself and all my shooting friends have tried most everything and all but one has ended up back with the 140 Hybrid.

Look up JLK Bullets. The original owner passed a few years back but
the company was sold and brought back making 6.5 bullets. They were
a sought after bullet at the time. I believe these were the main bullets
Robin Arduin was using in catted 6.5x55's......

Don't believe the new owner is making bulle3ts at this point in time.

I had heard that lack of a dependable supplier of jackets was a problem. Wasn't aware that the business had changed hands again.

The Pacnor barrel on my 6.5x47 Lapua sure misses the 130 JLK's!

My 6.5 Creedmoor likes the 140 and 144 Hybrids. I can't really see any difference in my scores. The 142 Sierra's are close but not quite the equal of the Bergers. I shoot mostly F-Class with occasional 600 yard Freedom BR

Something to consider. I tried a 6.5x47 several years ago, force feeding it 140 and plus bullets. Took it off after about 300 rounds and went back to a 6brx. I have often felt with that case size I might do better in the 130gr area or even a bit less. One of these days I will revisit that project. I think I got caught up in bc numbers..The target will tell the truth.

Ethan was shooting the 130's in his 6.5x47 with stellar results. Another
friend of mine is shooting the Berger 120's in his 600 yard gun. Has
done well with it at Ridgway also. He is using a 28" 10 twist Krieger.
