Early Vudoo

I own an early Vudoo 22LR, SN VGW1### with a Bartlien 20" Kukri profile barrel.
I bought it used around 7 years ago and found it had some extraction issues.
A call to VGW and they were quick to send me a paid shipping label. They went through and brought the rifle up to new condition and replaced the extractors with the latest versions. Since then it has been virtually flawless in function and accuracy is great with Lapua C-X and Long Range.
a bit over a year ago I tried some Tenex and, while I had good accuracy, there were some "click instead of bang" issues. Then, apparently, it was "welcome to the new VGW. I thought maybe there had been enough rounds through it that a new FP spring was needed and the guy I spoke to said he would replace the spring if I sent the bolt in. I asked if the bolt shroud was the same as a Remington because I had a tool to be able to change out the spring. It wouldn't fit my tool (marked for R700) and another call to VGW was not very helpful. There seems to be quite a few things that have changed (improved?) over time. One, my scope base has three holes where the current is four holes. Obviously the bolt shroud is different.
I sent VGW an email advising I was wanting to know what cant the mount had, if the new mount would work on my rifle and if they had any advise (other than risking my bolt to shipping) on the bolt disassembly to change the spring.
Apparently, they didn't care to answer. Not even "we don't know".
I am starting to feel my early VGW 22 is like a new TV. when it stops working like it should you trash it and go buy another.
SO, any of you rimfire gunsmiths know the answers to my questions? I could use some real help.

Pulling the spring is not particularly hard and if not mistaken they now offer three different spring rates….buy all three and try with ELEY.

I have had a few Vudoos over the years. An early V1, mid V2, still have a 360 and a single shot.

As far as I know, the firing pin springs are all the same dimensions. The single shots came with different poundage rates. Eley has slightly harder brass so they might need a little more oomph.

I have never seen a Vudoo with a base that wasnt marked with whatever MOA was machined in. Nor have I seen one with three holes instead of 4.

I would call back, talk to someone else and send it in.

There are relevant videos on YouTube regarding bolt disassembly. The 360 is tool less, I'm not sure about others. I had a FP spring with over 90k on it and changing it out made no difference. I think your FTF are likely an ELEY thing.

The V22s (single shot) does not require a tool to break it down except for a hex wrench to loosen the set screws on the FP. There are a couple tools that are available to make cocking/uncocking the bolt during the process a bit easier, but not required.

I got my 700 tool to work on my early Vudoo serial number 10. It’s not easy but may depend on the tool you have.

Did you try calling Vudoo?

DI Precision is the Vudoo custom shop now so maybe get ahold of them and see if they can help you out.

. I think your FTF are likely an ELEY thing.

I suspect this is it. It has never failed to fire Lapua or SK.
Also, you may be right on the spring, as the gun will cluster Lapua Long Range at 100 yards in calm conditions.
