DIFFERENCES IN Argos BTR GEN 2 AND GEN 3 10 - 40X 56mm

Don't waste your time or money, upgrade to the Ares.
Glass in the Argos isn't that good in my opinion.
Had one sold it.
To answer your question, I think it was just the turrets in a couple of
scopes in their lineup. Cleaned up the mushy feeling.

Guy at europtics told me the only difference between gen 2 and gen 3 were the turrent caps are different,, the internals and all else are the same...Hope this helps

The greatest thing about opinions is we each get one.
Been using one in an informal bench league at distances of 100 to 300yds and this year I've posted my best scores ever. But then we are restricted to a max distance of 300yds. Besides the Ares is twice the price.

I have three of these scopes in use two are on anschutz 22lrs one on a 6br and one in reserve..For 100 to 300 yds they are just fine, the retical to me is great i like the fine floating dot... I have a few sightrons iii 10-50x60 and some leupolds for the money the athlon punches above its weight.

Now I will honestly state that at the distances and the fine targets we shoot at in our little league, this scope fits in just fine. At 300yds I can easily see the 6mm bullet holes in a white target. Though if I were to be shooting to 500 yards and beyond I would most likely move up to something a little better like the Ares.

I also work 2-3 days per week at a large outdoor range that is also a retailer for Vortex scopes and can get a huge discount yet I still own 3 Athlon scopes and not one Vortex.
