Measure the diameter of the bullet, measure the diameter of the neck with the bullet seated, take the difference and divide by two. The best I could do as I don't have a tubing micrometer or one that measured down to 0.0001" yet.How are you "calculating"..............neck wall thickness?
You need to use a tubing/(Ball) micrometer for an accurate measurement of this.
Calipers are not the most accurate tool to use for this as the anvils of the face are flat and not round
As to some comments about measuring, I used to audit labs and I'm very aware of calibration and issues with taking measurements. You can measure something and the displayed value not be accurate, and the way you measured can also introduce errors. I'm wanting to know if I've got a one, two or three thousandths interference fit so an error of +/- 0.001" wouldn't cut it. Just curious to see what others methods and equipment was.
