WANTED Remington 700 sa

I'm looking for a Remington 700 sa for a build, just receiver and bolt with a .473 face for a 22-250

unless you are interested in bushing bolt, bushing bolt face, trueing action, and timing bolt handle. Look at spending a couple hundred more on a ptg or like clone.

The only thing that is "Necessary" is facing the front of the receiver flat so the barrel has a flat face to butt up against
I have Rem 700's that shoot in the .1's and .2's that have none of that other stuff done.
I dont even face the boltface unless it is more than .001" runout
$500 or so for an action that prints 0.2's and below is fine for most people

Only "issue" Might Be,.. Bolt extraction, "Timing" and that's, a reasonably, CHEAP Fix.
Love My "Lefty", SS Rem 700 short Action from Bruno's, 4 - 5 years ago Just BEFORE, Covid "Set In" ( One of, the very LAST, Rem 700's Made by Remington, BEFORE,. their Closing @$550 ish. ).
@ OP,. Look action Over for, Straightness / Bolt Alignment ( Face of, Receiver ) and "Lap the Lug's", Lightly THEN,..
Set Barrel and Nut to, Be Tight on, the Go Gage and just Close on, NEW, Un-sized Good Quality, Brass, Bingo !
I used Lithium grease on Receiver Threads and BLUE Loctite on, the Nut threads for, "the Win" ( 2's and 3's @ 100 yds ). In Case I ever, want to, Replace the Barrel,. "Someday"

Ahhh, copy that, I never had that issue
Although all mine are B-Series and before, only have one E series and it is all good (was bought already customized so it may have been all trued up before I bought it as a 22BR Krieger barreled rig
None of mine are sleeved bolts though and dont see a reason to do that
My bolts run smooth as silkiness
The first Rem 700 B Series I bought used in a
.243 had the smoothest running bolt I ever experienced, slid back and forth as if on bearings

And the latest NEW Rem 700 L/A I worked on in Oct 2024 I merely lapped the lugs and applied polishing compound on the rails and lapped the bolt to the receiver...
....Smooth as Silkiness..............Love me that Rem 700 Chromoly

I'm not sure i would classify it cheap. I guess cheap is in the eye of the beholder.
About 150.00 there and back for LRI to do it. Accutig isn't doing them anymore from my understanding, so I guess if your capable of doing it yourself theres cheap.

Yeah,.. I've Noticed LRI's Price on, Bolt Timing and YES,.. I "Was" referring to,.. Acuu-Tig !
There are a Couple of, more reasonable, "Others" around,.. or so,.. I've Heard.
If a guy Knows what to, "Look for" he could, "Check the Timing issue", out,.. before Buying, an Action.
My Newest SS Rem 700, Lefty was Made in 2018 - 2020 "Probably" and IS, Near "Perfect, as IS, my 1981 Model 700 in .22-250 Rem., a "Sporter" weight barrel and, my Favorite,. Sage Rat Rifle.
I've Bought, 3 Tikka's Since and THEY ARE,. My Favorite,.. Walking / Hunting, Rifles.

My 700 SA on 20VT and 20 Prac seem to do the job not perfect by any means, seems the bigger cartridges were its more of a problem which is understandable.
Seems when you get into thst .040-050 thou range back from the bridge of the action to bolt handle they have a big problem, my 700 that my 30-28 was .050 now it works great at .010.

And cut a proper extractor in the bolt. I forgot about that modification too. Ifs a beginner action. That’s the reason there’s 20+ clones floating around
